I am all for calling movie-industry press releases (as one example) „AI bullshit“ because I‘ve worked with these people - well-educated, well-paid people who talk like LinkedIn posts and say that the next X should „boost engagement“ or „drive the conversation“ while having no idea what a conversation actually looks like or what would happen if people did engage with their empty bullshit. But of course there‘s the other side of the coin. I read lots of text that has an AI feel and it‘s not from MBA drones who should know better. It‘s from people writing in a second language and using AI to help them get their point across, or from my cousin who has developmental issues, or some other reason I‘ve never even considered.
I‘m not sure where I‘m going with this. I want more empathy for people who sound „dumb“ online, because sounding „dumb“ is really just shorthand for not sounding like „me“. At the same time, I want 99% of AI generated „content“ to burn in a car fire because it‘s so vacuous that no one would notice if it were gone.
wow lots here!! all fabulou!! first, i think the exec-ness is exactly it because, while many can say creative work "can be exported" to tech, the reality is that the MBA idiots are actually robots doing robot work and THEY are better candidates for being automated. should anyone be automated? no! but!! that would make more sense.
i agree that everyone should sound a variation of dumb (more character that way!!) and maybe a big part of this is the ~ pressure ~ to optimize every part of our life??
that said: i agree on how this is useful as a developmental/accessiility tool. that's a beautiful use case!!! and truly utopic, but that is going to be such a quiet part of this conversation (unfortuantely)
