It's funny because I really anticipated at least a few comments on your "No Lessons Ever Learned" section and...crickets. It's almost like living in a parallel universe where a few of us have the ability to see the future and the rest are just oblivious. Initially it was frustrating just trying to get people to SEE (kinda like Patrick Swayze in Ghost) but I've become resigned to the fact that whether or not we've been personally responsible, our species continues to think it can fuck Mother Nature six ways from Sunday without her (rightfully) doing the same thing to us. It's a shame, really. But it certainly makes me appreciate what we have now (not to mention giving me the time to stock up on the necessities we'll need when it all goes to shit and everyone is SO surprised :) .
Well my background is in PR so your question "How do we make this story sexier?" really resonated. But that doesn't work either!! And I think the word "doomer" really needs a makeover (hence "prepared.") But no matter how you phrase it people are just. not. interested :(.

I miss laughter, discovery. Let's be clear, stand up is in the toilet and it won't overflow out anytime soon, but i remember when viral stand up clips were either funny or they were, say, Tig Notaro's affecting tale of cancer. okay you're onto something with the comeuppance because i meant to put (and almost wrote about this) is that there's this thread of just...constant anger that is exhausting but entrancing and has made the internet "the internet" now it's wild. you're very right on that!!!!!
the hollywood fan-servicing is...so bad and basically AI algorithmic content to begin with. we dont need new tech to replicate the same bad decisions made because of "business"!!!
As I said in my latest Substack (wince) it's hilarious how studios think people won't make fun of them for using Runway video and Midjourney movie posters. Stars are literally all that Hollywood has left. They're annoying but not as much as these Hollywood biz bros
