If I’m not mistaken, you live in Europe, right? I think that may be the reason Ella Langley hasn't been on your radar. Rather than being a sign of niche culture, I think it’s a sign of America losing its position as the dominant exporter of pop culture.

As the US becomes more nationalistic, it’s creating more culture geared toward a national audience. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is becoming increasingly influential in the global cultural economy (K-pop, Latin music, Afropop, and our European queens Zara, Charli, Rosalía, etc.)
